Introduction

Galaxy Public School was founded in 1986 by founder Principal, Mrs. Geeta Rana. It is a co-educational institution and caters to the educational needs of boys and girls from Class Nursery to Class 12.

Accreditation

The Higher Secondary Wing of the school, Galaxy College is affiliated to the Higher Secondary Education Board, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, Nepal. It implements the National Curriculum. The following streams are offered.

  • Science
  • Commerce and Management

At this level, English and Nepali are compulsory. In the Science group, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths are offered. In the Commerce group - Economics, Office Management & Secretarial Practice and Accountancy are offered.

In higher education, its aim is to maintain a first-class, cost-effective system which helps to satisfy the social needs and to offer an opportunity to students to enhance their knowledge.

The College Complex

It is situated in a peaceful locality with greenery and open space. It is accessible by roads of Gyaneshwor and Dillibazar on either side, making it an ideal setting for a residential as well as a day-school.

Language Policy

English is the medium of instruction, as fluent English is usually a basic requirement for admission to centres of higher education.

Facility

Library

The college has open shelf libraries that are designed to encourage students to develop an interest in a variety of subjects.

Science Laboratories

There are Science laboratories having adequate facilities for practical work in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. These encourage students to learn through experiment and research. Students who have opted for science at the 10+2 level, do extensive laboratory work to reinforce their learning.

Computer Laboratories

Computer Studies have been introduced as a part of the regular curriculum. There are three modern Computer Laboratories equipped with 197 computers. Students are taught the use of computers as a resource.

Cafeteria

A newly built cafeteria is available to provide wide range of food. Due consideration is given to hygienic food at reasonable price.

Transportation and Parking Facility

Galaxy provides transportation facility to and from the college within Katmandu valley at reasonable cost for its students. It also provides an ample space for parking facility inside the college premises.

  • Sky blue check shirt for +2; full sleeves or half sleeves depending on the season.
  • Grey pullover (V-neck with school monogram) Full sleeves or sleeveless depending on the season.

  • Navy blue blazer with school monogram

  • Grey scarf, grey cap and grey gloves in winter only
  • Black leather shoes (flat shoes, not boots)

Admission Procedure

Step 1

Complete the registration form and attach photocopies of all relevant documents. Submit your application form to the Admission Office within the stipulated date.

Step 2

Registration is followed by an Entrance Examination and an interview.

Step 3

The results of the admission tests are put up on the school notice board within 3 days from the date of Entrance Examination.

Step 4

Selected students must complete the admission formalities within 7 days from the publication of the results of the Entrance Examination.

Step 5

Scholarships

Galaxy has launched various scholarship programs for the upliftment of the poor but meritorious students. Identifying talent and giving them a chance to shine in life has become one of the principles of Galaxy.

The school has been providing scholarships to underprivileged students for many years. A lot of students have benefitted under this program.
